Molecular Sieves Desiccants for Microfilm Storage

Molecular Sieves desiccants absorb moisture, hydrogen peroxide and oxidants to protect microfilm and slow vinegar syndrome in acetate film.

Key features

  • Absorb moisture, hydrogen peroxide and oxidants
  • Reduce the effects of vinegar syndrome in acetate film

Description

Molecular Sieves are desiccant compounds that absorb water, hydrogen peroxide and other oxidants. Placed inside microfilm roll boxes, they keep the air around the film dry and stable.

They are also used against vinegar syndrome, the breakdown of acetate film base: by absorbing the released acid and moisture they slow the process. They are supplied in 3.5 g and 7 g sizes.
