Century Animals Medical Centre in Malaysia and the Agfa CR 10-X - Image 1 of 3

In April 2013, Century Animals Medical Centre in Sabah, Malaysia, became the first vet practice in the city to install an in-house digital radiography system for diagnostic evaluations: the CR 10-X digitizer plus a DRYSTAR 5302 tabletop printer. At the practice, three full-time vets and ten support staff care primarily for small animals such as cats and dogs.

Highlights

  • The CR 10-X offers the right balance of quality and affordability.
  • Software tools such as zoom, measurements, contrast adjustment and image mirroring provide more diagnostic information.
  • The system is fast and straightforward, and staff find it easy to use.
  • The clinic can take more images and carry out more studies.
  • Giving owners a copy of the images helps them understand why imaging and the recommended treatment are important.

Selection and results

After researching the options, Dr. Dennis Lim chose the CR 10-X for its best balance of quality and affordability and the responsive support of the Agfa HealthCare team. The system has fit smoothly into the clinic workflow: the vets decide which views they want and the nurses make the images. The installation of the CR 10-X is part of the clinic's plan to set up new outpatient centers in the region.
