Clinica della Brughiera Equine Clinic and the Agfa CR 15-X and Equine DR 35

Clinica della Brughiera, a small clinic near Varese, Italy, specializing in equine care, provides 24-hour service, a mobile diagnostic ambulance at horse races and orthopedic surgery. To meet its need for accuracy, quality, ease of use and speed, the clinic uses the Agfa CR 15-X digitizer and Equine DR 35 digital detector.

The clinic's needs

Since 1980 the clinic has focused on diagnosing equine disease and has a team of 10, including 7 veterinarians. Horses from all over Italy and Switzerland come for radiography, ultrasound, MRI, endoscopy and other tests. Most injuries to racehorses happen in training or competition, so the clinic's ambulance was also equipped with a radiography system to allow fast diagnosis of fractures in emergencies.

Results

According to the clinic director, sending images directly to the workstation has made the DR 35 the fastest radiography solution in the ambulance and the clinic. Feedback from this experience on the LGC tour is being used to develop Agfa solutions for equine care.
