Gierth X-Ray International in Riesa, Germany, is a distributor and provider of complete imaging solutions for veterinarians and has worked with Agfa HealthCare since 1999. Through this partnership, the company has equipped all five veterinary faculties in Germany with complete CR and DR radiography solutions, co-branded Agfa HealthCare and Gierth.

Description

According to Ralf Georgi, managing director of Gierth and a trained veterinarian, many of the company's customers are veterinarians who work alone and must act as surgeon, internist, anesthetist and radiologist at the same time. Gierth's aim is to make imaging simpler for these veterinarians.

Several times a year, Ralf Georgi does field work with his X-ray generators and detectors at zoos and animal sanctuaries around the world. In 2007, his images helped diagnose pneumonia in the panda cub Jing Jing in China.
