Agfa and Universal Imaging Partner on Veterinary Digital Radiography in North America

In April 2019, Agfa signed an agreement with Universal Imaging, a multimodality supplier of veterinary equipment, to provide dedicated veterinary DR solutions with MUSICA 3 image processing to the US and Canadian markets. The goal is to deliver high image quality at the lowest reasonable dose, in line with the ALARA principle.

Universal Imaging has more than 45 years of experience and has served more than 20,000 customers across North America. Its portfolio includes digital radiography, ultrasound, CT and cloud archiving, and its support team provides remote and on-site technical service.

In 2018 the company was looking for a DR solution with excellent image quality at the lowest possible dose for its veterinary customers. According to Universal Imaging's vice president of sales, after several veterinarians at several sites tested DR with MUSICA 3, its image detail was superior to the other systems tested and provided a realistic display of anatomy for accurate diagnosis.
